L-arginine is an amino acid found in red meat, poultry, fish, and dairy which is converted into a chemical called nitric oxide in the body. Nitric oxide causes the blood vessels to dilate which improves blood flow. This increase in blood flow results in extreme muscle pumps during weight training. L-arginine also improves cardiac function and blood pressure.
